Structural Protection
STRUCTURAL PROTECTION WITH PANELLING SYSTEMS
HOW IT WORKS STRUCTURAL PROTECTION SYSTEM WITH PANELS
Maintaining structural stability is of paramount importance in providing sufficient time to evacuate and decrease the risk of collapse. The benefits of using fire protection materials of the laminated gypsum panels, fibro silicate etc. type is that they adapt to a wide range of steel infrastructures. The degrees of fire resistance vary according to calculations and tests run by the manufacturer, based on the specific characteristics e.g. thickness of materials and the corresponding UNE standards.
PEFIPRESA is committed to utilising this type of system with the security of their implementation guarantees; uniformity regarding the thickness of protection, high quality finish, high resistance against mechanical impacts and durabil
PROJECTED FIRE RESISTANT MORTAR
HOW IT WORKS
The usage of mortar solutions in passive fire protection supports steel structures, reinforced concrete and mixed structures. Within this area of passive fire protection the range of products that PEFIPRESA offers the market include lightweight aggregate mortar, low density mineral wool mortar, etc. each depending on the nature of the project.
The mortar is generally applied to large areas by projecting the material through pneumatic machines, and manual application for small areas and/or repairs.
It adapts to any base without cracks or breakage, provided that the support surface is in optimal condition. In some cases, PEFIPRESA recommends the use of nervometal mesh for large mortar thicknesses when higher protection is needed or when the support surface presents adhesion problems.
The use of these materials also benefit in terms of health as they do not contain substances classified as toxic or dangerous, and furthermore combustion does not cause toxic gases to be released.
PEFIPRESA highlights the use of these systems for renovations, consolidation or conservation works to avoid overloading the existing structure. The characteristics of the implementation of this product make it an advantageous system in terms of its time efficiencies during application.
FIRE RETARDANT PAINT
PROJECTED FIRE RETARDANT PAINT
Fire retardant paint is a good option for metal structures, considerably reducing the thickness used in comparison to other fire protective surface materials.
By means of a chemical reaction, it increases its thickness creating an insulating layer that protects the structure from fire. The degrees of fire resistance vary from 15 to 120 minutes according to calculations based on the specific characteristics of each material.
They are usually for indoor use. They can be applied manually or projected, always on a clean, dry and rust-free surface. In addition, they support different finishing layers, according to the aesthetic and technical needs under the manufacturer’s recommendations. In cases of external application, sealing paints compatible with the nature of the intumescent paint should be used.
PEFIPRESA provides solutions with paints to protect metal structures, concrete and wooden structures.
